hi, I am from Nigeria on a student visa here in India.. i was invited my by Uncle, for my Cousins wedding in California in september and i also want to use that period to write my CCIE Exams.. pls, what type of visa do i need to apply for and when is the right time to apply? Thanks

Visitor visa( B1/B2) . But for single( I assume) young students , it is difficult to get that
for a casual purpse like a cousin's wedding. They assume, this is an excuse for you to go there and not come back. I strongly advise you not to apply with that purpose.

Yes, you can apply to take the test you mentioned, provided it is only held in the US.
What is this CCIE test and why you are taking it , if you can post here I can guide you further.

CCIE stands for CISCO CERTIFIED INTER-NETWORK EXPERT, I am taking it to become an Inter-network Expert. This exams can only be take in nine centers around the world (with a center in India, Dubia, China, Belgium , Australia, Janpan, Hong kong, Singapore and two Centers in USA) but defficult to find a date in India and Dubia due to the population of people that want to write the exam...

It won't work then , they will ask you to go to Hong kong or some other country.

After you clear CCIE, do you have to go to some country to become an expert?

Wow! thanks. never know it was that hard to get a visit visa to states.. but can you give mi an advice on how to go about it. cos i will love to attend that wedding and @ the sametime write my exam there.. thanks once more..

Are you or your parents financially very well off? Do you have strong ties in Nigeria like
own property, parents' business ?

yes, my parent own some landed property and are into business and i can present my bank details for them to see the flow of cash..
