Is H1 stamping a must for sponsoring visitor visa for parents?

I have H4 visa stamped and got my status changed from H4 to H1B.
I want to sponsor my parents for visitor's visa, but not sure if H1B stamping is required for sponsoring?

Looking, at the current visitor's visa rejection rate want to know if stamping is a must. Appreciate your help.
