I am planning to sponsor visitor visa(B2) for my mother in Chennai,India to visit me in US. I am working for a IT firm with valid H1-B status which is valid till Jan 18,2012. My firm has applied for my H1 extension which went to rfe on Dec 21, 2011.I am now in the process of preparing the documents to respond to the rfe which will take minimum of 30 days for my firm to respond to the rfe and then on to get my visa extension a good amount of time.
If I sponsor visa for my mother now, will that cause rejection since my current h1 is valid only till the 18th(which is 10 days from now) and my extension is in rfe status. I need to sponsor the visa asap due to personal medical emergency and would really appreciate your help on this
