  • Visitors visa B2 - re-entry

    Hi ,

My mom is here on tourist visa (B2).
This is the first time she is here.
She has spent 4 months here.
She would now like to go back and return back in another 1-2 months.
    1) Is this ok ? will this cause any problems at port of entry?
    2) Will she be granted another 6 month I94?
    3) Are there any implications because of this re-entry ?

    Please advice.

No, it is not ok. Always keep a safe gap of 4-5 months betweent two visits if you are staying long periods of 3-6 months. Returning too quickly can make them suspicious of you trying to stay in US rather than VISITING. Unless you can genuinely show that it is an emergent situation.

In practice , they will probably let her enter after questioning and with a warning but why take a risk. If they will let her enter , there is always a chance she will get a short stay.
