    Hi,

This is a question regarding Indian passport.
The passport belonging to my mother in law is a bit unclear. This is her second passport and she has been travelling to Bangladesh with this before. This is the first time she will be visiting USA and hence applying Visa. Meanwhile due to some carelessness some water got into the passport smudging some of the pages including the first and the last pages. All data are legible but there is some blemishes on top of the photo.
Please advice if we should apply for a new passport before applying the visa.

    Thanks,
    Manodipto

Yes, she must. Even if it is a small damage, donot take the risk. US embassy clearly states that they will not place visas on damaged passports.
