Sponsor Documents for Parents - Scanned Copy

Hi,

I am currently in USA and planning to bring my parents here on tourist visa for some time. I am sponsoring their trip. As per process I need to send sponsor documents to them. Since I am in USA, can I send scanned copy of sponsor documents by email? Or do I need to send original hardcopies by post?
