  • Interview for Parents and Sisters: Together? Separate??

    Hi All,

I am planning to schedule interviews for my parents and 2 working sisters. They would be applying for B2 and I am sponsoring it.

My status: on H1b for 3 year.. wife on H4.

Can you please suggest as to whether I should try to schedule the interview for all of them together or separately (one for my parents and one for sisters)?

    Please advise.

    Separate is better.

If they want to travel together , the US embassy requires them to apply together.

Whether they will all be granted visas, is a different matter , dependent on your parents' family situation. Your sisters being young and single( I assume) , may be denied.
In the officer's mind, that will also ensure your parents' return home.

Please look at the page " applying for a non-immigrant visa' on the US embassy New Delhi
website. On the right hand side there is a statement in a block saying,
" Families should apply together even if travelling separately".

It is a nuclear family as in the west Not necessary for extended families.
