Hi I am currently in US on B2 visa. My I - 94 expires on Apr 28. I am planning to stay until march 20. Does Staying in US for 5 out of 6 month hamper any future visa application for J1 or H1b visa ??

No, it does not . Why do you think it will hamper? You will be leaving well before the date on
your I-94.
