  • !-94 valid for only 28 days

    Hi, Friends

my wife accompany me for the US tourist trip, I have the business at first week(Jan 15th-20th ), and then we will go trip with friend visiting personal tour. we plan to stay US for 3+ month, and the return ticket will be 12th April.

It's very stange, My wife get the B2 Visa for 6 month, and my B1 Visa is for 28 days(I think it should be B2, my main purpose is for personal trip), I have the perfect records on Visa for my travel in US 2-3 times each year, and that's also the 2nd time my wife go US with me(last time, she return on time), it seems ti's impossible finishing the total travel in time(my Visa is just 28 days!).

We are thinking of applying for an extension. But as you know, the time it takes to process the application, validity of her stay etc... all very confusing. Please help.

Note: My visa begin with Jan 14th, expires on Feb 11th

If the officer thinks that you are visiting too often and too much, they can give you a less stay for your current visit. Subsequent trips might even be refused.

I saw there's the similar issue like us, just wondering if we can follow the case below and find the help with "Go to the CBP at the POE/international airport "

Allowing a shorter stay is really not a mistake. You can't back to the airport to get longer stay.

thanks for the quick reply, by checking my visa, that's the 1st time I make the trip in US (2012) and I only travel one time in 2011, it seems I don't travel too much. How can I do for the next ? and if can I explain with CPB again.

          thanks.

Does your Visa expire in 28 days or does your I-94 expire in 28 days?
Visa only has to be valid on the day you travel to US, I-94 determines your duration of stay.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
