Parents visitor visa-given pink 221g slip-urgent suggestions

Hi,

My parents went for interview in New delhi consulate, as per them the interview went well. VO was smiling all the time and at the end said things look fine, everything is ok and kept their passports but gave them Pink 221g Slip saying we need to do some admin processing and will revert to you in 3-4 weeks. My questions from experts are:

1. What could be the reason of the same
2. Will they approve or reject the application
3. They have not asked for any document do, we need to check if they need some document
4. Why this happens with visitor visa as i have heard similar cases only for Student and H1 visas
5. Does anyone got visa approved after getting pink slip
6. In how many days we can expect response, as I need to plan tickets and their trip

Did mother /father ever work in a sensitive occupation like the army/nuclear science / other sciences? That could be the reason for a background check.

You donot need to send any documents, if they wanted they could have asked.
Approval/denial , how many days, no one can say.

No none of them work in any sensitive field. Father has a business and mother is housewife. I understand everything is uncertain, but from prior experience from so many posts could you please suggest the days taken for processing? and is it positive sign that they have kept passports?
