How soon are visitor visa documents returned

I have the following queries regarding visitor visa process in Hyderabad

1. VFS Web site says that I need to submit all documentation between 3-5 days prior to interview date. Is this true or I'm allowed to carry all the documents on interview date.

2. When do they return all the documents submitted for obtaining the visa.

3. Does passport and other documents submitted will be returned together or separately.

For visitors visa from Hyderabad, you don't need to submit anything in advance.

Passport will arrive in mail few days after the interview.

What about supportive documents, will they handover immediately after the interview i,e instead of sending them via courier along with passport?
