Hi,
I'm on H1B visa and would like to get my parents and nephew visit
US and stay with me for couple of months.
I scheduled interview for my parents along with my 9 year old nephew (sister's son).
I produced all neccesary docs , including I-134 for all of them.
At the gate, the officers did not allow my sister to accompany my nephew as
my parents are accompanying him (I'm not applying visa for my sister).
My parents got B2 visa approved but my nephew's application was rejected.
I'm posting questions asked by the VO to my parents regarding my nephew's application
which Im posting along with my parent's answers :
1) Where are his parents?
Ans : In chennai near to where we are living
2) Why should a 9 year old boy go to US?
Ans : To visit various places in US during his school vacation.
3) Who will pay for his trip?
Ans : His uncle (me)
4) Where will be he stay in US?
Ans : In his uncle's place (my house)
After that, they just approved my parent's visa and rejected his application saying they
are not convinced that he will return.
I would like to reapply for my nephew next month.
I have the following questions
1) Should I schedule an interview just for my nephew and so, my sister will accompany him during interview as he is a minor (OR) Is it neccesary for me to apply visa for my sister and her son and so they 2 can attend interview together and I can issue I-134 for both of them?
2) My sister does NOT have own house or land in her name, her husband has land in his name,
so, if I apply B2 visa for her, how will she prove that she will come back to India.
She has an younger kid whom we are NOT applying visa for.
3) How will my 9 year old nephew prove that he will come back to India?
4) If they ask what is the purpose of visit for my sister and his son, what is the better answer other than saying "would like to visit places in US?"
Looking forward to response. Thanks in advance.
