  • Who should be the Sponsor

    Hi,

Me and my wife are having a Green Card. I want to bring my Mother In law to US in tourist Visa. My brother in law is also in US and in H1 visa.

Who should be the sponsor for my mother in law, me or my brother in law?We want to make sure to have a best chance for the visa approval?

    Appreciate any reply for this.

It is more natural for a mother to be staying with her son during her visit. Also daughter's family
sponsoring instead of son may make the officer think , the mother is visiting her daughter for pregnancy.
If your bro-in-law has been in US for some years and has good income , let him sponsor.

All that said, sponsorship carries little weight in visa success. Most important is your mother-in-laws ties to home country. With 2 children in US , does she have anyone in India to who she will return to after the visit? What about your Father-in-law?

Mother in law has only two kids and both are in US and she is widowed? Any chance to make the case strong to get the visitior visa. she already got rejected once because of both the kids are in US.

It is going to be very difficult for her to get a visitor visa because she has no family ties in India.

What is her work status? ( retired/ housewife / working). Does she have her own house in India? Does she have any extended family in India like sisters, brothers, parents living close to her?

If you are close to becoming a US citizen you can bring her as an immigrant after getting citizenship.

Her work status is Housewife . She doesn't have any House in her name but she has a land in her name. She stays with close releatives like Her sisters , Brothers and they stay in the same compound but different house. House is owned by her son.

any help to make the case strong.. I just got my green card so Citizenship is out of question.

She can try again after a few months ,saying that she does not want to immigrate, and that she has her close relatives living next to her in India who take care of her. Should ask for a short stay like 2-3 months.

Do not mean to discourage you but It is a matter of hit and trial . Especially widows with no children in India , find it hard to get a B1/B2.

We can think of other visa options:
            1.What is her education?
2.Is she religiously inclined or with any religious affiliations?
3.Is she working age group? Can she work if required?
