  • My in-laws Visitor Visa got approved @Hyd, Feb 06 2012, Telugu

    Hi Guys,

First of all, I want to Thank you all for posting your experiences in this forum which helped me a lot to get my in-laws prepared for Interview and got approval in first attempt.

    1) Interview went with only Q & A 's. They didnot even look at any single document, neither mine or my parent's.

    2) As per my in-laws , VO was assisted by a lady translator in Telugu, she didnot even say a single word in English.

    Q's by VO :

    1) Why are you visiting America?
    A) Answered. Tourism and visiting purposes.

    2) How long will be your stay?
    A) 5 months.

    3) Who lives in America (to know about sponsor and in our case, I have sponsored for in-laws)?
    A) Answered.

    4) Is your daughter working in America?
    A) Answered. Yes

    5)What is the company name?
    A) Unable to answer company name, but they told my company name.

    6) On which type of visa is your daughter currently?
    A) Answered.

    7) How many children do you have?
    A) Answered

    8) What is your profession ?
    A) Answered. Retired in our case

    9) What was your duties while in service?
    A) Answered.

    10) Do you get pension ?
    A) Answered. Very less pension in our case.

    11) Then they asked, how do you take care of your expenses ?
    A) Answered. Explained about the avenues of income in form of Agriculture for support. Also told they have a son working in India to take care. Also told they have property documents and VO was not interested to see them.

Then ...VO said, we are giving you visa , your passports will be sent in a week. We are waiting for passports now, will be more happy if they get 10 years multiple entry.

I am so happy that my in-laws got visa....

All the Best for all those guys who are sponsoring visitor visas..

Tips I informed to my in-laws:
    1) Keep a set of all documents and I have prepared them to give the correct doc if asked.
    2) Answer in way that you are mainly coming USA to visit places not me as its a Visitor Visa.
    3) Always speak as per the data we provide in DS forms. Try to provide all correct data.
    4) Travel expenses sponsored by me and they have XX lacs in their savings account.

    Once again Thank you all.....

    Regards,
    Sundeep

More than 180 days on B2 visa.

        Hello Seniors,

Our in-laws have their I-94 till 18th Sep 2012 (starting from 19th Mar 2012) and they are travelling on their last date of I-94, i.e 18th Sep 2012. I hope it is okay to travel on the last date. So they stayed for 184 days in total.

As they stayed for 184 days this time(first visit to USA) and this is legal as per their I-94. If they are coming next year, Will this be a problem as they have stayed more than 180 days this time? And will immigration dept have track of their previous I-94s to verify their status legal or not? There are chances for an officer at POE to consider overstay as they have stayed 184 days and hence this worry. Please provide an insight on this situation.

            Hi,

I came in USA in June this year on L1-Blanket, my duration of stay in USA is 6 months. My wife came in USA one month after I came.

Now I am planning to apply for my mother’s B2 VISA(I am sponsoring her VISA) but have some queries in my mind. She is a widow, housewife but getting 10K/month pension.

            1. Do I need to get Form16 for her also (as she is getting pension)? We never paid tax for her and don’t have Form-16 currently as she is a pension holder with near 1.2L annually. I will give my Form16 for her interview.

            2. Do I need to give her my documents in original or scanned copy will work? Documents like- I-134 form, my Bank statement, Bank account verification letter, letter of Invitation, Letter to Consulate etc. I mean to ask is that do I need to post(USPS) signed documents to her in India or the scanned copy will work?

            3. In I-134 form question 7, can I show my India property after converting the approximate value in USD?

            Please reply to above questions.

Any additional information/suggestions are most welcome.

            Thank you.
