    If you go as a visitor , you cannot work legally.

    To work legally as a ******* worker in a restaurant;

    1. immigrant visa in EB-3 category but there is wait of several years.

    2. H2b visa ( temporary work visa) but only a few nationalities are eligible.
    If you are India born , you are not eligible.

        EB-3 immigrant visas ; they are currently granting visas to India cases filed in 2002. In future , the wait time can go up or down.

        B2 visa; please post the following info for advice;
        1. Are you married or single? Any children?
        2 What is your age range 20-30 or 30 -40?
        3. What is your education?
        4. Work experience in INdia?
        5. What is your job in bahamas ? For how long have you been working?
        Is it permanent?
        6. Do you have any property in bahamas?
        7. What are your family ties to INdia?

            Visitor visa( B1/B2) may be very hard to get for you because you are young and single.
            And you are not firmly established in job/business in either bahamas or India. You will be suspect as a potential immigrant which means no visitor visa.

            However, since you have a bachelor's degree , you may be eligible for M1 ( further non-academic study), H-3 ( training) , or an H-1b visa( specialty work visa )
            I strongly suggest you talk to a good immigration attorney regarding your eligiblity and if your friend can sponsor you for an H-1b. Also, The 'potential immigrant' issue does not apply with
            H-1b.
