  • Sponsoring for my brother-in-law

    Hi All,

I would like to call my brother-in-law and his family (wife and a 4 year old kid) to US to visit us. They both are Software Professionals. My BIL has visited UK before for work and his wife has visited Cananda for work. What are the chances of their visitor visas getting approved as they both are in IT and they are young (30-32 years). Also should I sponsor them or they should try to sponsor themselves. I am a GC holder, would it matter (positively/negatively)?

    I would appreciate your responses.

    TIA.

If they are able to take care of the expenses themselves, that is the best.

Young couple, the whole family leaving, brother has a GC and can support the family, purpose of visit -casual.
All these things may make the officer think them as potential immigrants. Even if they have traveled to UK/canada before. Chances of getting the visa are 50-50, depending on the whim of the officer.
Showing self funding is always better but they must have strong income for that. Rs. 2L /month
      family income is good.

Can they manage separate business visits to US like they went to canada/UK? B1/B2 that way is much easier to get.

Thanks guys for your replies. I will check with them to find out if they can manage to get business visa separately.
