  • my mother's name has little different on my father's passport

    Hi,
My father's passport has my mother name as "Seethamma" and my mother's passport has "Sita".
Will that be a problem if I take a visitor's visa appointment in Telugu at HYD consulate.
Reason was both passports were applied after almost 5years gap and we didn't consider very seriously before applying.

    1) Do we need to get an affidavit that Seethamma and Sita are same in India?
    2) or need to correct name in one passport to make it consistent?

Please let me know if anyone had this type of situation.

    Thanks in advance,
    RK

As per my knowledge - I don't think this should be an issue. They are applying for individual Visas

But taking an affidivit is good always.

Are the names on your passport correct?

I paid the visa fees 3yrs ago for my Mom but couldn't get Telugu appointments in time. Finally that fee receipt got expired after an year.
Since my father also got the passport now, I am trying to send them both together in March.

My passport and my mother's passport has same name.

I hope affidavit is fine. I will take a chance if name correction is definitely not needed in my father's passport.

Please let me know if anyone had similar situation in the past and got rejected just because of this.

      Thanks,
      RK
