What is the difference between B2 (Tourisim/Medical Treatment) and B1/B2 (Business/Family)?

If parents come in B2 VISA can they stay in their relatives house for a few months and visit places like a tourist?

B1 = Business Visa
B2 = Tourist Visa

B1/B2 = Both are combined into one.

People visiting on B2 can certainly stay at someone's house and also tour the places.

I am inviting my parents to visit me in Houston and also Tour some places like New York etc. What category of Visa should i choose in DS 160. B2 or B1/B2?

It is all one category to apply under B1/B2 , the visa type B1 is for Business and a B2 is for Tourism. You will apply under the B1/B2 visa category as they are one in the same.
