HI,
My father in law was born in the then east pakistan (born in Bangladesh in 1957 then it was called east Pakistan and got the name Bangladesh in 1971). HI place of birth in passport is also mentioned as Chittagong Bangladesh. He is now Indian citizen and also holds Indian passport and does not hold a BD passport. Now when filling up the DS-160 form I noticed there is a question asking if he has held any other countries nationality and also in immihelp DS-160 form guidelines it says that your nationality must be the same as the country of your place of birth.
Her is the confusion now. His place of birth is in Bangladesh but his nationality now is Indian. Does he have to mention the other nationality then. If so how to mention in the various sections of the personal details in DS-160. Can you please clarify.
Appreciate your help and quick response.
Thanks,
