sponsor papers HELP NOW NEEDED

I want to sponsor someone to come here from India. I lived with him and family
in India for 5 weeks.
Why is it necessary to show the account numbers of your bank account, the
retirement fund and show income tax documents without blacking out the
social security number on the tax form.
with the id theft these days going on... seems like giving out this informatiion
would be dangerous. I trust this young man to protect the documents, but if they
fall into the wrong hands, my information is compromised and who is to say
someone at the embassy won't use the info...

Seems like as long as the documents are in order...my name is on them,
the info there... it should be okay to black out the account number and the
social security number...

If you don't trust the visitor enough, don't sponsor.

Many guys are not comfortable showing any of of their financials to their in-laws and ask the same question.

Embassy does not keep any of those documents. They have no place to and no interest in your documents (other than to see that you can sponsor someone).

thank you for your response. I do trust this young man
he is very much like my son... we have a close mom/son relationship.

Question though... I don't work so no paycheck stub to show.. I draw
social security a month along with pension income a month...

as long as I can show I can take care of him...with bank account balance,
retirement fund and my income tax info... will he be able to get visa ?
I very much want him to come stay with me a couple months.. I will be
going back to stay with him and his family again soon...

How can I make sure the papers are strong enough for the consulate
to give him the visa...

It is really up to you what you want to show. But, then, it is really up to the visa officer how much he/she wants to believe.

If anything is redacted, there is a strong possibility that they will think that those documents are not yours.
