  • Question on VISA SPONSOR FOR MY Husbands First Cousin

My Visa status is L1 Blanket and is valid up till July 2013 with 1-94 till Nov 2014

I am planning to sponsor my Husbands First Cousin who is of 63 years old and still working a in the Bank after retirement and his wife.
He visited Pakistan for two times on August 2001 and April 2005 on tourist visa
apart from that he has been to Singapore, Malaysia and 2 times to Saudi Arab to perform Haj.
Will it be problem for him to getting a Visitor Visa B2.

    My question is,
1 - Will it be a problem if I sponsor him?
2 - will there be any problem getting visa
2 - Will that affect me in future to travel to USA

There is no Visa sponsorship for Visitor Visa. All you can do is pay for the trip. If this cousin has sufficient funds to pay for their trip, all you need to send is an informal letter stating that they are welcome to stay with you during their US trip.
If they don't have sufficient funds, you will need to send them your bank statements and a formal letter that you will take care of their expenses in the US.
They will be evaluated for Visa eligibility based on their ties to home country such as family, job, property etc. Your relationship or Visa status is less important.

This is my opinion and not legal advice.

They will definitely ask about any children. He must say he has one child who he
is supporting through college. Can skip mentioning adopted unless specifically asked for.

He can show self financing through income and savings. That is always better than a third distant person sending an affidavit of support. You and Your husband can send an invitation letter combined. Because, your husband's mention has to be there because he is directly related and you because you have the primary working visa L1. His past travel history will go in his favour.

All that said, an outcome of a visitor visa interview depends quite a bit on the officer's whims.
