  • Different Names on passport

My Mother's Surname in MY passport is "ABC" and in HER passport it is "GHI". It is because, her marksheet has her surname as "ABC" and she is teaching and using surname as " ABC" and SHE used the same on MY passport.

She got HER passport in 1997 and there she used her given name (after marriage) "GHI" as surname.

is this going to be an issue with getting her B2 Visa?

in the DS-160, should I mention HER suraname "GHI" in the given name and surname "ABC" in "have you used other name"?

please let me if this going to be an issue with the consulate in giving her visa?

    Thank you

She needs to use her name as per her passport.

Other names should be in 'Other names' field.
