  • Visa for cs exam, or visitor visa with family with cousin sponsoring?

    Hi all,

    Im starting my prep for USMLE now. need help about which visa option to choose. I have three options.

    1>Whether i should write step 1 and then go for visa for cs.

    2>My cousin who is a US citizen will be sponsoring our visitor visa.
    For visitor group visa for my family except my dad for tourism purpose.. he will stay back in india because he is a government employee.. my mom and me and my sister would go for visa. my sister is still a student. my mom is a doctor and so is my dad. we have our own polyclinic. i work there too, but i dont have pay stubs for that. i have recently started working at a hospital, but i dont have pay stubs for that yet because i get paid in cash there. we also have houses and sites as property and bank balance. will this suffice as ties to india? Im 25 year old an unmarried and 2 years since graduation. So scared.

    Which of this has a better chance of getting visa?
    plz plz plz plz suggest..

    I am a doc too, and I have the following advice;

    If your main purpose to go to US is to take CS ;
    Take both step1 and step2ck in India. If you get great scores on both, they won't refuse you for CS. And go independent of your family.Do not mention your cousin.
    Show your own money and a hotel booking and a stay just required for the test like 10 days.
    That shows seriousness about CS .
    Mention of USC cousin is not good. The officer may think the cousin will help you stay back in US and since you are single, you will not return.

    Let your mom and your sis go to visit your cousin. Your likelihood of getting the visa
    with the family for a casual visit is remote because you are a doc, young and single and they won't expect you to return.

      But if i want to go for research or externship before CS exam, then what to do for visa? I was thinking if i get multiple entry now, it would easy to go soon after step 1 for externship. plz reply..

        I think you are rushing into everything.
        You have not even taken step 1 and you are thinking about externship.
        The best way to do is to first concentrate on taking your step1 and step 2ck.
        You can do it best in India with a family background to support you.

        Like I said,, chances of denial are high if you go for a casual visit.
        Your best bet to get a visitor visa is through CS. ANd for that you must take other 2 steps first.
