Error in DS-160

Hi
I'm inviting my parents to visit USA and I already got the visa appointment date. But while filling out DS160, I entered that they will purchase the tickets. So my question is
1) Could this be the reason for visa denial?
2) Now to fix this what can I do as I cannot change the DS160?

If you have not yet taken the appointment, you just fill new DS-160 form. Otherwise, explain the mistake at the time of interview, if asked about it.

I've already taken the appointment, but my main question is that would this hamper the chances of visa? Is it a deal breaker?
