urgent help needed- us visitor visa denied

My parents in Mumbai, India were denied US visitor visa under section 214 b. They had specified Tourism and visiting family' as purpose of travel. They were denied visa, bcoz, they said they wanted to stay for 6 months in usa.

I am 27 weeks pregnant. Mine has been a very high risk pregnancy, with lot of complications. My due date is Aug 27. I am wondering if my parents shuld reapply for visa, this time giving medical emergency (my pregnancy) as purpose of travel. Is it ok to change purpose of travel like that? I can obtain a letter verifying my condition from OB/GYN doctor. Can this be a feasible option?

Is there any other way they can reapply for visa and get an interview date as early as June end? The conslate web site says interview appoitments till september 1 st week are full.

Any suggestions/feedback are welcome. Thanks.

You can ask your parents to goto Mumbai VFS center in person with application forms for early appointment. Rest I dont know abt. reapplication.

Try one more time ASAP for the dates avalible . also ask them to be specific, i think medical reason will not help. keep the same reason "Toursim" and may be ask for 3 months.ask them to collect as many documents as they can, also show solid proof of financial status in INDIA

My parent's visa was rejected twice, first time the officer questioned them as why do they want to stay for 6 months, for the second time they applied with the stay of 3 months but again the visa got rejected this time asking them why they wanted to stay initially for 6 months and now for 3 months.

I think giving a medical reason with supporting documents can help, because one of our friend's mother got her visa in the second appointment by providing a doctor's letter about the medical condition.

If you mention pregnancy as the reason for visitor visa, very high chances that it will be rejected.

Just wondering...I have a very similar situation. Did your parents ever get a visa to come and visit you/ help with pregnancy and baby? What did they change in their interview inorder to be successful?

Instead of saying to support pregnant daughter/DIL, it wld be better to say “tourism” and/or visiting son/daughter etc.
