Urgnt - Passport # changed after appoint?

Hi my dad's passport number got changed after i took the appointment. actually he had sent it in for a correction and now i believe the passport # is changed ( may be it is a new one, we are still waiting to get it in mail ). _ Does this mean i have to get a new appointment??
Somebody who had this situation - please help..

You can use same appointment.

Carry both passports to the interview.
