  • Visitor Visa Rejected for Parents in Mumbai

    Hi

My Parents had tourist visa interview on 19th March 2012. They were asked the following questiosn

    1) What does your son do
    2) where do you want to go
    3) to my mother :- what do you do and how much is your income
    4) to my father :- what do you do and how much is your income ( he is retired and getting pension)

Although, I was sponsoring the trip it was never discussed during the interiview. They were given the form 214 B and told that the visa is rejected. I feel it is totally irrelevant for my father's income if I am sponsoring the VISA.

This totally looks to be a lottery system for me now as you never know whose Visa will get rejected and whose visa will get approved. I myself is on a non immigrant visa and may have to go back to india in few months. This was not asked even by VO. This has caused lot of frustration and dissappointment to me as I cannot bring them to USA.

Please help me understand what has caused the VISA to get rejected.

Yes, visitor visa decisions are not uniformly and logically made.

Mainly, they are looking for the applicant's ties to India. Mainly family ties and Job ties.
If they are retired and not earning big money, the officers think they do not have any reason to return to India, so no visa.

Do you have any siblings in India? What visa are you on and are you retuning to India pemanently?

I suggest you to reapply for your mother 1st and then your father. it will work I guess.

      thanks
