What does "detailed travel plan means" under provisional denial 221(G)

Hi,

I have couple of questions for Immihelp administrator/forum members

1) Since my parents were asked to provide "detailed travel plan" in their next visa appointment, what does it mean? In the 221(g) document, it's clearly mentioned that they can get appointment on any business day within specific time. They just need to produce the required document.
2) In the invitation letter sent earlier, I had requested for 6 months of stay. I did mention purpose of visit as visiting places and also meeting us. My mother was asked why she wants to stay for 6 months. She mentioned that she would like to visit us and also visit different places in usa. On that interviewer was not convinced. My mother then reuqested for 3 months of visa and she was told to produce travel plan. Now since I have already sent invitation for 6 months, do I have to resend invitation letter mentioning stay period as 3 months? But 221(g) document only asks for travel document and nothing else.
I have sent detailed travel plan listing different places to be visited. Do you think, this will suffice the requirement? Why they ask for period of stay as most often than not they give b2 visa for a minimum of 6 months?

Make a detailed itinerary of what she is going to do for 6 months while she is here.

You can write down that she is going to visit places during the weekends, shopping, once in a while go out for longer trip etc.

Thanks a lot for prompt response. I have already sent list of places to be visited in USA along with start date and end date. I have included places like las vegas,yasomite,san franciso, disney land etc. and mentioned dates during weekend. My final questions to you is " Do my parents have to stick to 6 months stay" or they can ask for 3 months stay? As of now, I have sent itineray for only 3 months. I can mention that "my parents would be visiting places during my son's vacation" which starts from june 3rd week and ends by 1st week of september. Since in the invitation letter, I have mentioned tourism and stay with my family, I can mention few months without visiting places as they are old.
