Bias in issuing visitor's visa to young and single applicants

I've noticed from the various discussions on this forum that there is apparently a bias in US consulates against issuing visitor visas to young, single applicants. Apparently there is no official reason for this. However a news report in Times of India at http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...ws/1130605.cms, through related to UK visitor visas, might be a reflection of what we all know unofficially about US visitor visas as well.

Interesting article...I think U.S and U.K have different protocols from their own state departments for visa issuance. From a consulate perspective, the probability of a young single applicant to stay back in the U.S is higher, unless the applicant can prove that they have good ties back to their home country (and that they are visiting U.S temporarily).
