student Visa Renewal Issue due to Parents B1 Visa

Hello,

I am a doctorate student in USA and my parents recently ( Feb 2012) applied for their B2 VISA as they wanted to come for my planned graduation in June 2012. Unfortunately their VISA got rejected on the grounds of insufficient ties back home and my graduation got postponed due to delay in some of the research required for my PhD. therefore I am visiting India this month and I have to renew my student VISA. I have taken all the necessary documents including letter from my advisor saying why I need more time. My i-20 is valid.

Will there be any issue due my parents visa ? as they mentioned they are coming here for attending my graduation and now I haven't graduated ?

please provide suggestions.

No, they won't refer to your parent's application when you apply for a student visa renewal.

Thanks Member. That gives me some relief. I was thinking the same but want to be 100% sure. 1 visa reject in family makes u worried
