Parent passport name correction ?

I am planning to sponsor visitor visa for my mother to visit USA, In her passport my mother name is different than the one mentioned in my passport.
since few hindi names can be written differently, this happened.
for example.. in her passport its "Priti" and in my passport its "Preeti".
Her name is correct in her passport and matching with other documents.
Does she need to get the name corrected (same as mentioned in my passport ?) before applying to the USA visa.. ?
or need to carry some additional document or some kind of declaration from me or her ?
