  • OPT _ should parents mention that during B2 interview

    Hi friends,

i am currently on my OPT and my parents are attending for an interview end of this month, they were once rejected for the visiting visa in 2010 ( purpose given was my graduation ) , but i did not walk that year. I have planned to grad walk this year so they are attending again for the interview.

i am working as a contractor on a EVC relationship.

    My question:

If the visa officer asks "what is your son doing in USA?' -- should my parents mention that i am on OPT and working as a contractor or should they just mention that i am on my OPT and will return to india after my OPT period?

Please help me in this regard..!!!

    Hi..

Yes do mention about your OPT .... but there is no need to get into details just mention simply.

Donot hide facts you should be truthful in your interview.

Our parents are also trying for B2 visa we both are in US my brother has applied for OPT so we will say that applied for OPT simple.

All d Best and mention us in your prayers.

      Thank you for the reply..

should my parents mention about my work if the visa officer asks ?

what will be the best way of explaining if the VO goes in depth?

      Regards..

Yes dont lie just ask them to explain tactfully and not detail analysis , they dont like to hear stories.

Make it Short and sweet but tell the fact.
