    Hi all,
My parents hv their visa interview on this month end at chennai consulate. can they opt for a translator at the time of interview? or is it like they wwill ask u whether u need one? my parents do know english well. yet is it necessary to hv a translator? thanks in advance

If they know English well, there is no need to have translator.

If you have opted for English, and if there is a translator available, they may provide you, but there is no guarantee.

I heard sometimes Translator mess up the things. is that true?
I heard its better parents talk directly in english if they could communicate in english.
otherwise if they dont have any influence in english, i think its prefer to take a translator.
I dont think translator will be available if you have not choosen the option of tamil translator at the time of booking the appointment. is that right?

Your understanding is correct regarding translator.

Translator may or may not be available if you selected English appointment. Depends upon luck.
