  • Visitors visa for parents and younger brother

    Hi

I want to bring my mom, dad and younger brother to the US to visit me.
My dad is working in Abu Dhabi, mom is into a little politics and real estate business.
    We are basically from Chennai.

My younger brother (26 years old) is attempting on some of his arrear exams. (from May 5th 2012 to May 26th 2012)

Could someone please answer the below questions?

    1. Should my dad attend B2 visa interview in Abu Dhabi consulate or travel to Chennai and attend the visa interview along with mom and brother?
    2. If its advisable for dad to attend visa interview in Abu Dhabi, should i send mom and brother together for visa interview?
    3. My brother's arrear exams are from May 5th 2012 to May 26th 2012. Is it advisable for him to attend his visa interview before these exams or after these exams. Which one will convince the consular that he will return back?
    4. You should know my brother is working for a small firm on electrical projects as part time. He can get a letter that he is employed there. Will that help?
    5. Should my mom show as she is in politics and real estate or show as she is a home maker?

    First of all , about your brother;

    *Young ,
    *Single ( I assume)
    * Not properly employed
    *Going on a casual visit,
*A close relative in US to help them

This category is the most likely to be presumed as potential immigrants and are most likely to be denied a visitor visa.
Your brother fits into that category , so he should not apply . His exams and part time employment will not be considered.

    About your parents;
How long has your dad been away in Abu Dhabi?
When does he plan to return?
Doesn't your mother live with him in Dhabi?
I am sorry this may sound like a personal question, but it will be surely asked and has an important bearing on the outcome.

      Thank you for helping.

Cant my brother apply at all with any other helpful factors? I really want him to join me please suggest some points we can mention.

My dad has been in Abu Dhabi for a long time, but not continuously. The last time he went was in 2004 and he comes to India just on vacations.
My mom and brother live in Chennai and my mom doesn't stay with my dad as she used to do business in India and now she is on a break.

No, they won't give consideration to anything except the five factors I mentioned.
Going to US with parents at age 26 , another assumption the officers may make is
that the family has a match lined up for him in US.

He can try if he wants to ; a denial won't stop him from applying again in the future
but the officers do look at it and want to see a change in your situation everytime you re-apply.

In my opinion, If he only wants to visit US, he should do so when he has a permanent well paying job in India and has travelled to other countries.
If he has plans to study, work or settle in US, he should try other visa options.

About your parents, best would be for your mother to join your husband in
dhabi on a proper spousal Dhabi visa and they should apply together in Dhabi.
YOu do not want to give them the impression that both are living separate for so many years.
Then they can deny on the basis of lack of family ties.

                Hi

I have a similar situation. My parents and brother want to visit me in USA.

--> My dad is a state government employee in India and my mom is home maker.\
--> My brother just finished his graduation, was placed in campus recruitment, waiting for his posting order.

                My questions:
                1) Is it possible that my parents and my brother can attend a single interview. If so, do you suggest it? Is it best if my parents and brother attend two different interviews?

                2) Coming to the VISA fee, do they have to pay separately or all together?

Can someone help me with these answers.

                Thanks in advance.

Your brother , having recently graduated, will find it hard to get a casual visit visa , so I think he should not apply. Young, unmarried people, not settled in a stable job or a vocation
                  are considered potential immigrants.

You can invite your parents . Your dad will have to get an NOC from his govt. job first.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
                    My dad got a NOC.
I know the odds are very low for my brother. Bu still he want to give it a try.
So do you suggest they all go together for the interview considering he want to give it a try or do you suggest they(my parents and brother) go separately.

And btw can you give me few details about visa fees?

                    Thanks again

I gave you proper advice about your brother. He is almost sure to be denied. For one he is young, unmarried, unsettled . And secondly, the whole family is going without leaving any ties behind.

If he still wants to apply, they must apply together.
That is the embassy requirement. All family members travelling together or even traveling separately must apply together.

                        Thank you so much

One final question, even though my brother is 22 years old, do they have to apply together?

                        Thanks again

                          Hi peace999,
I know you will be busy, can you please reply the one last question I asked in the previous post.

My parents are not going to travel to USA atleast in coming one year. My brother wants to visit USA before he joins that new job. So was wondering if they can go to separate interviews within like a month gap or so. FYI, he is 22 years old.

                          Please reply.

                          Thanks again.

I am sorry if you are not willing to take my original advice( your brother should not apply) there is no point answering your other qs.
