Hello all,
I applied for a visitors visa for a very short visit to the US (2-weeks tops). I said I would be visiting my sis-in-law who lives in x state, and then doing a week-long workshop in another state. I had all the details of my sis-in-law's status, an invitation letter from the place I would be doing the course (I had prepaid for it as well), financial details saying my trip was sponsored by my father (10L in an FD and 2-3L in a bank account), information about my financial details and all.
However, the interviewer didn't even look at any of these documents. All she asked me was:
what I'm visiting for, where I'll be going, my annual income, my husband's annual income (4 and 8L p.a.), and details regarding the workshop (going to see a pretty famous author who'll teach a 5day course).
That's all she asked, before saying my socioeconomic ties weren't strong enough and I got rejected. Unfortunatley, I mentioned I'm a freelancer, which might have been a red flag for her.
I have absolutely no intention of migrating to the US: I live here with my husband and cats (4!). I also run a local group for which i organize meetings monthly. Is there any way i can show these last 2 things on paper or in the interview, to help me in my reapplication?
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks a ton...
