  • I 134 Question 9?

    Hi All,

My husband sent an I 134 for his mother twice and her visa is rejected twice.

Now we are planing to sponsor for my parents.
If my husband fills out the I134 for my parents, does he need to fill the block 9 " previously submiited any I 134 for any other persons".
Does he need to mention that he had submitted I134 for his mother.

My concern is my MIL attended interview on 6/6/2005 and its got rejected and now my parents are attending on 6/27/2005.

If he mentions that he had provided I134 for his mother, will that give any chance for consulate to reject my parents visas?

Can someone help me on this issue??

what happens is he does'nt mention that he had provided any affidavits before??
Can the consulate can track the I134 to check if he had sponsored anyone before?

    Thanks in advance,
    vanaja.

If your spouse has sponsored someone before (e.g. filled out an I-134), then it needs to be mentioned in the new I-134 being filed. I do not think visa(s) get rejected because you filed I-134 for someone else before.

      Thanks for the info.

Does the I134 need to filled manually or it can typed ?

Also do we need to send our original marriage certificate or a notary copy of marriage certificate is enough?

        1. Either way. You can fill it online on this website and print it. https://www.immihelp.com/form-i-134-...pport-us-visa/

        2. Original.

If you got married in the USA, you can request a 'certified copy of the marriage certificate" from the county where you got married

URGENT: Our marriage certificate for inviting in-laws

            Hello Immihelp,

When I sent the documents for my in-laws, I just put a copy of our marriage certificate, not the ORIGINAL . They are attending interview coming Monday, June 13. Will that be a problem ? What do I do in this situation ?

            Appreciate a quick response...............

            Thanks very much,
            - Sudhakar

Thanks Immihelp for the quick reply! I've talked to a few people and they said it is OK to send the copy also and some said they sent the original. In most cases, the documents were not looked at during the interview process. May b the guys who sent the copy got lucky with regards to the CO not looking at the documents at all.

Do U know any1 that had sent just the copy of their marriage cert, the CO looked at all the documents and din't have any issue granting the VISA ? OR any1 in this forum come across such a situation ?

                  Appreciate a quicker reply!

Vanaja, if you can send both tax returns and W2, it is good. Otherwise, send whatever you can.

                      Thanks immihelp

The reason i asked so is..i dont want to say that i am working.
If we send our joint tax returns we need to say that i am working.

Thanks a lot for quick respose.

If you are working, why wouldn't you want to disclose that?

                          A question may come??
If both are working, how can they spend time in showing you all places??

Preffered method is fillable PDF for I-134

I think the recommendation is to send the original marriage certificate. If you are married in the USA, you can probably request a certified marriage certificate from the county where you got married. Note that the certified copy is different from notarized. Good luck.

If both are working, that is not considered negative. That is how it is supposed to be in US that both husband and wife work. That is expected.

You can show them places in weekends, long weekends or by taking vacation.
