  • Visitor Visa for my parents

    Hi ,
    I am on L2 visa since April 2011 - a home maker . My husband is on L1B - came here in Dec 2010.
    We are planning to get my parents here for 1month - along with my 21yr old brother - who is currently pursuing his B.E IT in Mumbai. My parents have already received the interview date of 2nd May at Mumbai Consulate .

    My queries are as below:-
    I have already sent them the required documents of my husband & mine as well - as per what is mentioned in your website
    1. But with regards to the invitation letter - that needs to be addressed to my parents :
    Does the invitation letter need to be written as ME - inviting my parents & brother
    OR
    else since my husband is the whole person sponsoring for the trip - it has to be addressed as HE inviting his parents-in laws & brother inlaw?????

    Which one would be safe to represent..Please guide ...

    2. Since my brother is in his third year BE...i have already procured his Bonafide certificate & letter from the principal for his education in home country.
    Can U suggest any other document which can additional work in his favor for getting a B2 visa for 1 month?

    PLEASE SUGGEST & REQUEST YOUR URGENT RESPONSE - AS I HAVE TO ARRANGE FOR THESE DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT BY THIS WEEK. As i ahve my parents interview on next wednesday

    Ideally, you should have posted your thread before taking an appointment.
    Ties are more important than documents.

    Do you have any other siblings besides your brother?
    If not, then I would have advised your parents to go without your brother.
    This is because leaving behind some strong tie is a major criteria for visa success
    Anyways, young and single people going on sponsored casual visits , find it
    harder to get visitor visas.
    .

    But now that you have applied, pray for the best.
    You do not need to send an invitation once you have sent an affidavit of support with financial documents and your passport and visa copies.
    Get your brother to get a document of vacation/leave from his college.

      Thanks for your suggestion.
      Hope for the best to happen to get the visa approved .

      (A) For the advice given on my brother's docs: -
      1. My brother has procured a detailed letter from the college principal - stating his pursuing BE there - & he appearing for this 6th sem now this month - with college re-opening mid July 2012 - there by he will be having to appear & clear his forth coming 7th & 8th sem there after . Wont this suffice to some extent ???
      2. He has also procured a bonafide certificate from the college separately....
      3. He has his college ID card
      4. Domicile certificate
      Wont these all suffice to some extent for him .....??
      At the time of interview - can he tell them that he has his own career plans to be pursued in India - like his campus job interviews coming up in the next couple of months & he planning to take up job & settle in India & that he has no plans to go abroad ...

      Can this statement from him help at the time of interview - when Q...
      Should he take any separate declaration written by him / notarized or some thing like that..???

      Please suggest..

      (B) For my parents visa approval - all my husband's sponsorship documents ie.
      * Passport & visa copy & I-94 ,
      * Company deputation letter
      * I-797, I-129S, G-28,
      * I-134 Affidavit Of support
      * His bank statements - also showing monhtly salary credit
      * Bank a/c verification letter,
      * ITR filed here,
      * Letter to consulate - from my husband
      * Invitation letter to my parents - from my husband
      Along with my passport, visa copy, birth certificate , marriage certificate - should suffice right ???

      Is there any thing else that is additionally required....??

      PLEASE SUGGEST .....

        You are giving too much importance to documents. What you sent is enough.

        In reality, they won't even look at most of them.

        They will decide on the basis of verbal answers to their questions.
