b2 visa 1 yr only how to extend

Hi all , I applied for visiting visa to my parents and they got approved but that happy ending doesnt last long as they got visa for only one year, actually i applied for my graduation ceremony but i did not want them to come now , i thought of calling them after 1.5 years, so what should i do now inorder to get the extension , what if i apply for visa next year is it easy to get or will VO ask why dint you visit last time and reject on that basis?

Is their any special note( annotation) on their visas?

I strongly suggest they should make a short trip on this One year visa if it is still valid.
That will show to the officer in the next application that they are not potential immigrants, only visitors.

ALso, under the new rules, they will be elgiible for an interview waiver for the next application.
If they do not use the first visa, they may be called for an interview, which if not properly handled may result in a denial.
