  • Duration between two interviews

My parents B2 visa was rejected on May 7.

What should be minimum duration between two interviews. 15 to 20 days is ok or shall I wait more?

They can reapply in that much time but
there has to be a real change in why they were denied. Or they will get another denial.

My advice; Don't rush it , focus on the reason for denial.

They asked basic questions both the times:

Why you want to go? Visit USA

What is your son doing? H4

what is your daughter in law doing? H1

      How many kids you have?

where will you stay in USA? with my son, address

What are you doing? govt retired
Didn't ask about pension or any finance question!!!!

No further questions... Don't know what is the reason for denial. Both times gave 214-b, didn't ask even a single document....

I don't know how to show tie up to India when they don't ask any questions related to that. We don't know the proper reason, which we could correct..... Don't know what to change....

        So they were denied twice.

The major reason for denial is situational (lack of
ties , family, job, income,to home country.) Documents do not carry much value.
So blindly reapplying without any change
        in situation is pointless.

In your parents' case, no job, and no children in INdia( (I assume ,you have not mentioned it)
were the major reasons for denial.

*Is your dad doing any part time work or any business activities, agricultural land or
        owning real estate etc?
        *Do they have strong savings?
If he can show some post retirement work and has good income from other sources besides his pension, and strong savings, they may try after several months , not earlier.

How many kids you have? 3. One son in US and 2 daughters are married in India

Mom and dad are gov retired, getting 3 lakhs pension and more than 5 lakhs interest from their savings annually. After retired no one is paying Income Tax but they are...on 8 lakhs income. Except me no one in US all are in India, my two sis, grand ma, their brothers and sis...

            I get the picture.
Married sisters do not count as ties. THe officers think retired parents would like to spend their
old age with their only son.

If they really do not want to immigrate , they need to stress on some ties to India in their next interview. LIke I said before, if your dad can show some part time work/business ties or compelling ties to an organization or a society . He can also stress on the fact that
his old mother( you said grandma) lives with him ( if she does). Also, show them if he has any property.
