My mother in law visited us recently. She was in US for around 1 year on her extension. She left to India recently on 03/13/12. She wants to visit us again in this June, 2012. Will it be a problem in immigration. Usually, how long a person needs to wait between two frequent trips. Since we extended her visa last time, will it be a problem if she visits us so soon.

There is no set rule of intervening time period. Depends on each person's situation.
Mainly, if it seems like you are living in US rather than visiting US , you have a problem.
Your case is exactly this; Spending 1 yr in US and then coming again 3 months later.
Definitely there will be problems at entry.
They can let her in with a warning for a short period if she can give them a compelling reason for a visit. But there is also a chance that they will send her back.
Let her not risk it.
