  • Sponsoring parents trip on F1

I want to invite my parents for my graduation walk and we (me and my husband) want to sponsor their trip.

I am on F1 visa and currently working on OPT. My husband has been working on H1 for 4 years. My question is whether we should put my name as sponsor or my husband's name as sponsor.

DS160 form has no way to explain the relationship between my husband and my parents.

    Please advice.

Whoever has the money can pay for their trip.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      thanks for your reply.

I am just concerned do they doubt my capability to sponsor their trip since I am on F1?

I have enough bank balance and pay stubs from my company to support that bank balance. But generally they dont even let you show any documents to prove that we have enough money. They just see the DS160 form and the form says I am on F1.

Yes, you or your husband can sponsor your mother's visit in US from the cost of the air tickets, accommodation and her everyday expense while in US. It would be better if your mother has an income separate from yours and if she can provide evidence of strong ties in your home country to get a higher chance of visa approval.

There is no Visa sponsorship, just trip sponsorship. Your status in the US does not matter as long as it is legal.
