Hi Everyone,
Sorry for a huge post. But I was silent spectator for for last four months thought today I will post what we went through
I would like to thank you for all the help and information on this site.I started reading experiences and different postings on this site for last few months as I booked my parents for visitor's visa and my son who is currently in India for h4 stamping for second time.I was panicked some times by rejections and my husband told me dont read negative experiences and get tensed and I was confident with positive experiences.I have written check list from here and Chennai embassy website.
They got visitors visa and my son h4 on June 14th morning in Chennai consulate. My father is an educated farmer and 59 and my mother is 57 a house wife but we have property,House and he has funds in the bank also.I took appointments in Telugu on Feb12th (Did not know that time we can keep looking for anther near date from TTS ,only knew in May but then I could not get one ).But when they reached at 8 am for 9-45am to 10am appointment they let them in immediately. They are back at their hotel by 10 am.Everything was very smooth. They checked the total file which we prepared for my son.Did not ask for my parents folder which we have put all our documents and thier property and bankstatement chanrter account letter,Affidavits,House Tax documents. They have not seen that folder at all.He just checked my son's Authorization letter from me and my husband which we notarized stating that he would be travelling with my parents if they dont get visa parents will come to get him back to USA.He asked only these questions
1.What is your son-in-law and daughter's name
2.Is this only son to her(About my son)
3.How many children you have
4.What do grow in your farms
He asked for finger prints so my parents know they got Visa.
Translator told you got your visa pay the fee in the next counter.
Points for people sending documents.
1.Send all the documents mentioned here.Prepare cover letter with Index so that consular can glance through qucikly.
Me and my husband are on H1 working continously for last 5 years we have sent each and every thing even tax documents for every year.I told my parents don't search for documents give the whole folder. There is nothing wrong in that you have each document.I don't want them to get tensed with remebering document names and questions. My father was tensed and even have fever while I can feel from his voice as he was worrying he does not care if don't get but they should not reject my son.I told them they wont reject my son at all and you will also get .I have not called them before leaving for emabssy cause I was tensed and I felt I am transfering that to them.I only called early morning 5am explained process im embassy for last time. My father also told too much makes us confused just let us leave it as he has fever also. That was very painful for me to put my father when he had such high fever
2.I have done three mock interviews for questions three days before actual interview with both parents on phone just like embassy. I collected questions from experiences from here and traslated and written in Telugu aorund 50 questions and sent them.
3.I have written embassy process also in Telugu from experiences and explained my father two times. It was very easy for him when he went there as he knows the total process(He was in emabssy once with me in Delhi when I came to US in 2000 my son was one year old.So he has requested at security as I have to carry my infant son and documents with both hands can he go along with me inside. They allowed him as that time it was not this strict) .
4.Book appointment in your parents choice of language. My parents do speak and understand english but we did not want to take risk booked in Telugu only.
5.Give equal importance to documents and preparing them for interview. This is very important.Conduct mock interviews before they leave for emabssy like
Do you have this document...that document also.Dont Write letter not just copying from here.Take it as base and put some personnel touch.
6.I would like to thank persons who posted for my thread photo studio(Victory) in Hyderabad and Hotel Sangeetha Guest house in Chennai and its phone number for reservation. We booked from here it self.My parents told this place is very clean and very nice just 15 minutes from emabassy. They have restaurant in itself in which food is good and Hygenic.AC room is 700RS and non AC is 350RS.We booked AC for two days as they reached there on 13th morning. My parents had very pleasant experience. You can send your parents here 100%.If anyone need address or phone number let me know
Their Visa officer was very young and was very cheerful before my parents said Good morning he asked How are you doing Sir /Madam.My father was very surprised and said Goodmorning. We are fine sir.My parents told lady next counter to him was asking lot of questions and documents.
If any one needs any help I wll help and keep posting the replies as and when i get time as I have learnt a lot from this experience.I also feel from this experience we put our parents thru all this pain and tiredness hope consulates in India one day will reinforce dropbox and taking finger prints at TTS counters in repective cities avoiding parents for personnel apperance.I and my husband personally felt in our heart very much pain to put our parents through this tension at the end God took care of everything as our family has 100% belif what ever happens it is with his wish and has a purpose for the defeat.Good luck too all the people who are going to consulates in coming days..
