  • Re-entry on a visitor visa

My Mom and Sister are in US since April 28 2012 and on a B2 visitor visa. their I94 is valid till Oct 27 2012.

Both me a my wife are US citizens.

We have a cruise booked for alaska that leaves from Vancouver Canada (on June 22) and lands in Seward Alaska (on June 29). I have already obtained a valid canadian visa for both of them.

We are then planning to spend a few days in alaska before flying back to my home in California.

I have their ticket for flying back to india booked for August 11 from california

My question is will My mother and sister be allowed a re-entry into US upon landing in Seward Alaska?

In general, if you take a short trip (30 days or less) to Canada or Mexico, you may retain your I-94, so that when you resume your visit to the United States you are readmitted for the balance of the time remaining on your I-94.
Just remember not to surrender their I-94s when leaving for canada.

If the trip is more than 30 days, they will have to surrender their I-94s when leaving for canada
and will be readmitted to US like new entrants with a new I-94.
In this case, there can be questions and technically entry is not guaranteed.

For more info go to CBP.gov . Go to travel link and I-94
