Hi,
My mother had her visa interview at Mumbai consulate on April 18th 2012 and she was denied her visa and was given the 214g slip.
We had requested a Hindi translator for her and she was asked a few questions which she answered correctly, but fumbled (she says she was trying to remember the name correctly to avoid mispronouncing it) when she was asked where I work and was denied the visa. My father is retired and mother is a house wife. They do have some savings for a few years (approx 4-5 years) with a money lender. Nothing in any bank. Also, they have a property in my fathers name. My two elder sisters stay in India and I am here with my husband and a 5 year old kid. Last time we showed that their trip was self-sponsored since we thought that might be easier.
This time I want to apply for both my parents since my father is very confident in answering the questions. Also I am thinking of sponsoring their trip this time, however, looking at the previous posts I'm scared at the number of rejections in Mumbai consulate. My husband is on L1 and I am on L2 visa. I contract for a software company and will be ending my assignment in August 2012 for my delivery.
Please advice on how I should go about this. I am sincerely hopeing that their visas get approved this time so my mother can be here for my delivery in August.
I would really appreciate any help/ advice on this.
FYI, apart from my husband's incomes, I can show about $10k savings in my bank.
-Would this be sufficient for both my parents?
-What would be a good option? Me sponsoring or my husband sponsoring?
-Should I apply for their visa together or separately? (My concern here again is that my mother tends to get nervous even at the thought of interview)
-My 5 year old goes to school. Should I present proof of this? So they rule out the possibility that they are coming to take care of her?
-Should we mention about my due date in August?
-Please give any other suggestions that you may have.
Thanking you in advance for all the help. I'm counting on help from immihelp this time and hopeing that my parents get their visas approved.
Thanks again,
Optimist me.
