My father is a widower and is semi retired (works part time). His B2 visa was rejected last week. Me and my brother are in US. VO asked only 2 questions - where are your children (both in US) and whom do you stay with (he answered alone). No documents were seen where he had highlighted his employment and other ties (like property etc). Please advise on how we can try again!! I read posts about getting senator's letter. The posts were from 2006. Does it still help? If yes, how do I get it? Please help!!

They decide on the basis of your life situation and not property, documents.
I am sorry, he almost has an impossible case for a visitor visa.
Too many negatives;
*widower,
*living alone,
*No work/ income ties.
*And both children in US.
I am not sure if a senator'e letter will work in such a case.
If either of you two brothers is close to becoming a USC, focus on his green card.

Thanks for your reply. We are not remotely close to USC We are here for next 1-2 yrs before we go back. We just want our father to visit US and take him around places here.
My dad's elder sister stays close by (next building) and he has her responsibility as she is widowed too and her children stay far away too. Can he show her as dependant on him? Would that help any?

No, that won't work. The officers think he would like to live where his kids are.
Sister is secondary.
IF one of you brothers comes back and settles down in India living with your dad,
Then there is a chance he could get a visa visiting the other son in US.
