  • Need tips to proceed with Visitor Visa

    Hi,
I have lived in the US for about 5 years. My last H1b extension got denied two years back. Since then I have been working in India.
I now want to travel to the US purely for visiting. More like 15 days or so, during the holiday season which is 6months from now.

I want to make sure I do it right in the first attempt.
Do you have any suggestions to make? Things that I need to take care of and how to make sure I have everything with me.

I want to travel alone without family hence will I need to produce any of their documents or can I just have enough documents for me and plan the travel accordingly?

    Thanks

    Actually documents are not important.
Your family ties , job +income and the purpose of visit are the deciding factors.

    1. Is it a pleasure visit or a business visit? If it is purely pleasure, why are you traveling alone?

    2. Do you have any relatives in US you are visiting? What is their visa status?
Is any of them sending you a sponsorship papers?

    3. What is your combined family income range in India? (<10L, 10-20L, 20L+)

    4. Are you married? Do you have any children?

I have some issues with my personal life and hence want to travel alone.
This is going to be a complete pleasure trip and plan to return back with a couple of weeks or a month.
Is it going to be too difficult to do it for myself?

No offence but can't advise you if you won't answer a few qs I asked.

          2. I have no relatives in the US. Only friends that I know, but i do not want to involve anyone in this unless really needed
          3. My income is less than 10L
          4. I am married and have a kid, but I do not want to go with them. Its just travel for myself.

*Going alone for a pleasure trip leaving behind family is not natural.
If it is a business trip it is natural. Anything not in the natural scheme of life, they deny.

            * Your income is not enough to show funding for the trip.

In this situation I do not advise you to apply.
If you have to, travel to europe or singapore etc. for personal vacation at this time.
This travel will work in your favour when you apply for a B1/B2 at the right time.
( business trip related to your work, you could have a better chance).
