Visitor Visa to U.S.

Hi,

I live in India and want to apply for U.S. tourist visa to see a friend there. What are the requirements for the same? I saw online that if I am single, between age group of 20 & 30 and not earning a lot of money, that's a negative point for me. Can anyone please help me with the same?

One more thing, I will be traveling to Switzerland in sometime on business visa. Can I also apply for U.S. visa from Swiss? Which option would be better, applying from India only or from Swiss?

Yes, if you are single, young and not settled in a well earning job /business at home, you are
very unlikely to get a visitor visa for US.
And you should never present the purpose as visiting a friend. The officers think no one goes
14000 miles just to visit a friend.

Applying in switzerland will be useless. They will ask you why you did not apply in India.
Indian staff is familiar with Indian conditions , so they do not like people applying outside India
unless it is an emergency.

Advice;
If you are in business, develop it, show strong balance sheets, and income tax returns.
And show a business purpose. Then only you stand a chance to get a B1/B2.
