  • B2 Visitor Re-entry related questions

    Hi,

I live in houston. My mom-in-law left US this year on March 27th 2012 after staying for about 2.5 months. Now, she is planning to come back on July 9th 2012. I read in lot of places about cooling period for B2 and it seems like there is nothing like that.

    I have the following questions,

    1. Has anyone brought your family into US in a gap of three months? if yes, did you face any issues?
    2. In the interview with immigration officer at port of entry, can my mother in law say that she is coming into US to support her Daughter who is recovering post pregnancy? Will this lead to him denying entry since my mom-in-aw watching baby/my wife take away employment opportunity of a local Nanny/nurse.

    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Arun

It should not be a problem in your case as she stayed for only 2.5 months and she is visiting after a gap of 3 months.

No, she should not tell that reason, it doesn't sound relevant and it's totally against the purpose of visitor visa. She can say, she wants to spend her summer vacation with her daughter and go around places in US or something like that..

        Arun,
my mom visited back US within 1 month and there was no issue. She just said she is coming to be with grand children for 6 months..I don't recall if there were any additional questions...it was couple years back

Now they are here with no issues

        Good luck
