  • Visitor visa for parents

    Hello All,

I would like to process visa for my parents. I have earlier processed visa for my in-laws this Feb and both of them got 10 years multiple entry visas. I have following queries:

    1. I am on blanket L1 visa valid till Sep 29 2012 and my company has filed extension recently and we are waiting for the outcome. Can I go ahead and process visa for my parents with only 3 months left now for both Visa and I94 to expire? Or do i need to wait until my extension is approved.

    2. My father was previously being involved in a land grabbing case in 2009 back in India by our close relatives which went to the extent of FIR filing. He never went to jail as he got anticipatory bail. As the FIR was filed, they had to go to court to solve the dispute and my father was found not guilty after trails and now the case is closed in mid 2010. They also have a judgement proof that the case has been closed. So it's been almost an year now that the case is closed. He is not employed and takes care of our Agricultural lands. My mother is a house wife. Re family ties, I have a sister who is married and recently blessed with a child. My father's mother also lives with our parents.
Do you think it will be a problem if I apply for my parents' visitor visa considering the above case? And also how will the other factors mentioned above affect the visa.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

    1. You should wait till you receive your extension. If you do not , the officers will say to your parents, why do you need to go,
your child's visa is getting over anyway.

    2. He can say he is an agri- landlord earning xxx per year.
About family ties, they only give importance to children and spouse.
Even married daughters are not taken as ties.

So, no children living with them in India can be a negative.
So , he must show strong income ties so his chances are better.
Should not say retired. Show active work with active income (managing agri land
with strong income). Plan ahead, prepare land income papers etc.
