  • Need suggestion for reapplying visitor's visa for dad and sister

    Hi,

On June 15 my dad and sister went for visitor's visa interview and they both were rejected. VO did not even ask a single question to my dad but only few questions to my sister, these were the question:
    1)Who is sponsoring you?
    A - Brother in Law
    2)What does he do?
    A - Director in a S/W company
    3) What does your sister do?
    A - Study
    4) When did you last meet her?
    A - Jan'2012

    Gave the passport back.

After reading posts here I have realized that I made a mistake while filling their DS-160 because I showed my dad (widow) retired but he is working as a consultant and I was not sure if that would help as my husband is sponsoring him.
Another thing I wanted to know that my husband sponsored his sister also in the month of May' 2012 and she got the visa, does that matter if one person is sponsoring too many people in less time?

I am thinking of filing dad's visa again after few months, could you please guide me if I should show my dad's strong financial income and self sponsorship ? Also, this time I am not planning to file my sister's visa with him.

    Thanks,
    S. Sinha

I know I am surprised of the fact because my dad and sister both went together for the interview and VO asked questions only to my sister and at the end returned both the passport with 214b form. I think may be they already took decision on my dad's case through DS160.

      Widow(er) + retired

is a bad combination which mostly results in a denial.
(No spousal ties and no work ties to India).

To show self funding he needs to show strong yearly income(10L +) or retirement savings ( 15-20L).
Still there is no guarantee because of the above combination.
You cannot show a change in his retired status in a very short time.

You need to wait till next year.

Thank you so much for responding, I will keep that in mind before applying again.
